Ip Man: Kung Fu Master (2019) [พากย์ไทย]

Ip Man: Kung Fu Master is due in cinemas nationally on 5 November 2020, currently excluding Victoria. With a running time of 84 minutes, it takes you back to Ip's early days before the Communist Revolution in 1949. In the starring role is Dennis To aka Yu-Hang To as Ip, the martial artist who famously tutored Bruce Lee. It's a time when Ip was a police captain, targeted for vengeance by the dangerous daughter (Yuan Li Ruo Xin) of a ruthless but honourable mobster, played by Michael Wong. His hands tied by corruption, disillusioned, Ip quits the force and soon has to contend with the arrival of the Japanese army in Guangzhou.




 

This is definitely one that'll delight fans of martial arts and Asian action with its action-packed scenes, and beautifully colour coordinated, uniform, stylised scenes that are visually polished and pleasing to the eye. Though Michael Wong has a small role, his charisma as the mobster speaks volumes. He manages to exude an equal balance of brutality and charisma that's hard to beat. Actress Yuan Li Ruo Xin, as his daughter, is a chip off the old block, a skilled martial artist ready to defend her father's empire. Her fight scenes were sharp and realistic and it's said she was helped considerably in the action scenes thanks to her background in ballet.
