Synopsis: The movie opens with a pretty, fancy, older woman serving a full on Thanksgiving-looking dinner, and pontificating about how shitty her family is - surprise - said family is DEAD AT THE TABLE. Into it. Meanwhile, Samantha, a pregnant lady is telling her husband, Matthew Lawrence, how sad she is that they never told her mom that they were expecting, because now she’s dead, and there’s no one to get excited with her any more. Matthew Lawrence is a straight up dickface and is basically like “ughhhh get over your dead mom already.” Samantha goes to visit her mom’s lawyer for the will reading, where she bumps into Colleen, the fancy lady from the murder dinner. Well, wouldn’t you know, it’s her grandmother who she’s never met before (this part is hella convoluted so just roll with it). Samantha is supes excited and rushes home to tell Matthew Lawrence, who’s entire role is to be right, but in a really mean way; he tells her that Colleen probably isn’t her grandmother, so she needs to chill out. Samantha’s bestie, a stock quirky best friend type, is happy for Samantha, but also warns her against warming up too quickly to new granny. Samantha goes to visit Colleen and finds a fully furnished nursery at her house, which kind of creeps her out, but not enough to scare her away, though. Stuff happens, including Psycho Granny attacking one of Matthew Lawrence’s coworkers with a knitting needle! Aimee investigates - by asking her friend Jill to open some sealed documents - and figures out that Colleen is definitely not Samantha’s grandma; she’s a conwoman and a felon. After informing Samantha about this, Aimee goes to confront Colleen, and gets murdered (with a tea kettle?). Psycho Granny then plunges a syringe into Matthew Lawrence, and hooks him up to an IV in the nursery (?). Jill calls Samantha and tells her about Colleen’s actual daughter, Melanie. So, Samantha seeks Melanie out, and Melanie is like “whatevs” so Samantha goes to confront Colleen. Colleen attacks and ties her to a chair; Samantha says she knows about Melanie. When Colleen unties Samantha to give her baby medicine, Samantha punches Colleen in the face and out of nowhere, Melanie is there! She attacks Colleen but doesn’t kill her. Matthew Lawrence appears and tells Sam that he loves her. Fade to Colleen in an insane asylum eyeing a photo of the doctor’s family.
